Default Leaky F-n sunroof!!

My truck really pissed me off the last 2 weeks. I've been out of state for work driving the truck. The midwest has seen plenty of rain and when it rains overnight, I've been coming out to a wet floor mat on the passenger side. When I first got the truck back in June 14 one of the first times I washed it, I noticed water dripping on the passenger seat. I found where it was leaking on the track, caulked it and haven't had anymore problems. My truck is always garaged at home so it doesn't often "sit" where it can be rained on.

So I get home Wednesday, open the roof and test to make sure the drains are working. I pour water along the 'tray' and it all drains under the truck no problem. It appears that the glass, when closed, dips down a little in the front compared to the back. This would explain why the leak is worse if the truck is parked with the front downhill. Can the glass be adjusted? I already have an appointment for the dealer but it often seems they "try" different things and I don't want to make 5 trips to fix the problem. I would like to give them as much info as possible and hopefully fix it in ONE trip!

Thanks

I don't know about the 09-14, but on my 04 the glass is adjustable, and I'd guess they're the same setup. start by cleaning the rubber gasket well and the all the metal where the gasket seals to in the roof hole. then there should be 4 torx bolts under the glass that allow you to adjust up/down on all 4 corners of the glass. adjust one at a time and look at where the gasket and glass sit, and make sure the sunroof is still operable and has full range of motion.

also probably wouldn't hurt to hit that gasket with a little 303 or other rubber safe product.

I can get pics of the bolts later if you want me to.. it's pretty easy though.

just wait till the track breaks and you have to either replace yourself for 250 or spend 1200 at the stealership! I opted to fix it myself, what a PITA that was (actually, it wouldn't be too bad if it weren't for having to remove the headliner, that's the worst part).

Oh wonderful! I rarely open it way up anyway, I usually just "vent" it to draw hot air out. I guess after the warranty expires I'll just leave it closed!

This is why I'll never have another sunroof on any vehicle I own, everyone of them has leaked! I made sure on this truck it didn't have a sunroof. Best of luck getting yours taken care of.

It takes 4 people to install the headliner at the factory, but it looks like it snaps in: (around 33:36 in the video)

just my dad and me in my driveway.. clean rubber gloves help but no matter how careful you are you still manage to get greasy hand prints on the headliner

4 people? 2 extra people in the way is what that sounds like.
