Leaf spring removal
2WD non tow.
2 leaf plus overload.
Understand not ideal etc. Thinking about pulling one whether overload or middle. In combo with a 2" lowering shackle, looking to do better than 2" drop closer to 3".
Don't want to go to a 4" flip kit.
Who has it done and what was the result?
Done it years ago on a past 2001 Lightning believe it was the overload got me where I wanted to be.

removing the overload leaf will only lower the truck the actual thickness of that particular leaf. It does not come into play in the suspension until the truck is loaded heavy. hence the name overload. I've never heard of anyone making drop springs for this gen. Only flip kits and shackles.
Yes, I pulled the overload, or helper spring on a past truck.
I prefer not to go flip kit with this truck, already having a flip kit in my '22 5.0 and the hassle it was.
I may just do a shackle and pull the helper leaf. I believe that should net me pretty close to 3" overall.
