Hey All, I just got a job in Denver and I have a 2011 F150 SC LL with the stock 22 rims with Perrelli Zeros on them. Wondered how well they would do in snow conditions? Have any of you cooler climate guys changed your tires and wheels out for winter time? If so, any recommendations on size wheel and brand?

I can't comment on how your tires will do... I have the 20's with the Pirelli ATRs (which suck, in the snow, in my opinion). I assume you'll want to run a minus size wheel, considering you have 22's. Finding snows in 20" or 18" sizes would be easier, I imagine.

I swapped mine out for some Bridgestone Blizzaks and mounted them on some OEM 18" wheels I got off ebay.

There's a ton of posts about this if you want to search and get more info (folks opinions on tire brands and sizes). I think tire rack is a good place to start though. Lots of reviews on the tires they have, and tire and wheel packages with lots of different options. At least to get an idea on sizing, availability, and cost.

They are great on ice. But really suck on snow. I went with 20 xd rock stars and a set of 305/50 nitto trail grapplers. They are a little wide for deep snow. But a great amount better than the zeros (you can move thru the snow instead of sitting there with 3 wheels spinning) best snow combination would be factory 20s or 18s with a set of good rated snow tires of your choice. The only reason I'm on the nittos is they came with a wheel tire tpms and lug package for 2k.

I have to elaborating on how well the zeros were on ice. Before Xmas we had a bad ice storm. All the bridges and elevated decks in the area were all shut down with multiple wrecks on them. I was able to drive 20miles thru the mess and managed to avoid an accident my self bc of the zeros grip on ice. I was having problems getting them to slip.

I've also noticed the nittos hydoplane on surfaces the zeros never did

We really have only had one significant snow this year but I was really impressed with how they did. Like geabis said, they do well on ice. Have not had them in deep snow yet.

Going to Denver I would get some winter shoes though.

The stock tires were dangerous in wet snow. I found a set of King Ranch rims that I put snowies on. Much better. Hear you guys have been short of snow in CO.

If that's your set up in the pic then those are terra grapplers instead of trai grapplers(better for you because trails would be hockey pucks). If you get a decent amount of snow and cold temps you're better off with your stocks because terras are a brutal winter tire choice. I own a set and bought them with the intention to use all year and within the first month of snow I went back to my all seasons and now run hankook ipikes. Theyre wicked in deep new snow but that's it, when that snow gets packed and icy you will see why I went back to the stock all seasons. Those are also way too wide for winter. yes they are terras, sorry. But don't think the stock tires will have any performance in any type of snow. Got stuck with only 300 miles on the truck and only 4 inches of snow. Anything with tread has to be better than the zeros in snow.
