I unsnapped mine to plastidip it. Its doable but a pain, especially if you dont want to break the clips.
I did black plastidip on the grille section because I figured it would be easy to remove but I doubt it will be.

Looks good! Paint or plasti-dip? I have chrome package lariat grille and upon looking at it closely it appears the mesh sections actually snap in/out of the main grille frame. So no need to tape everything off or even remove entire grille. Can just remove mesh sections to paint and then snap them back in
