You do have to wait to get your FMC account number so you can apply the payoff to your account, not sure about doing it the same day.
I never made one payment to FMC other than the payoff from BoA.
The dealer does not lose the $1000, they lose their commission from FMC which is around $100 or so as it depends the amount you finance. But since when do we care about dealerships profit! :-)

I know all dealerships and salesmen are supposed to be slimy but I feel they treated me good. If anybody is looking for a some respect and is in the Omaha, Nebraska area try talking to Baxter Ford. Sam my salesman and JD the sales manager were straight up and not dicks. I may have gotten lucky though.

Congrats, I've had my eb for about two weeks now and I am still grinning. No regrets, so glad I didn't buy the silverado I was close to getting.
I also was cornered into financing through Ford to get the deal I wanted, they told me in 2 to 4 weeks I could refinance with no problems. I was assuming this was just long enough to get me into the system. I plan on making one payment to Ford and then switching to make things easy. My banks rate is 2.1% lower!!!

When I ordered mine in March I qualified for the 1.9 for 72 months with $2000 rebate. When it finally picked it up June 29th I found my local bank offered 2.75 for 75 months and then took the Ford $3000 rebate. But Monday night (2 months on the button) I broke the number 1 rule. MY wife took my truck to bring my sons friend home (at the height of the Irene flooding) she drove it into a dark flooded intersection a block off the Hudson River. Rule number 1 .... DO NOT GIVE THE WIFE THE SPARE KEY. Insurance settled today and then called my dealer and reordered my truck. Truck 1) 14 weeks truck 2) ??? Heres to another 6 weeks at least.

I got just about 9 grand off MSRP for my Fx2 today. Then with my trade I got another grand added so not quite 10 all together. I'm sure they made their fare share off of me but I am very happy with the deal and love the truck. Drove off showing 22 miles on the odometer. Reset the trip about halfway home and got a combined 21 mpg. Can't beat that
