lol another mpg thread. traded in my 11 fx4 5.o crew with 3.73's in for 13 EB fx4 with max tow. towed for the first time tonight.
tandem enclosed trailer 16' 95% hwy at 70 mph- prior usually around 10-11 with 5.0 on the lieometer. tonight with the EB 7.1 mpg. holy crap that blows the big bean bag. I sure hope it gets better.
really like the truck otherwise. not really sure tho what all the hype is with the power towing. notice little difference to 25-30 mph after that not any better than the old truck.
Love the tow mirrors!!!!

I would say around 2k lbs. drove 150 miles round trip. half was empty other half had only a couch in it.
yeah I was a bit surprised. I knew the wind would hit it but there was little to no wind. that's why I went today. I have just over 1k miles so hope when it breaks in some it will improve

If you were going 70 you have a 70MPH wind. You can get much better mileage at lower speeds Try driving with the instant MPG showing on the info screen and watch how it acts at different steady speeds you will see that 10MPH will make quite a differance

That's the price you pay for more power.

My friends and I all drive F150s. It's a pretty even split to with the 5.0 and the 3.6. Overall, it seems like mpg difference is pretty minimal all things considered. I was pulling a 5000lb trailer with my 5.0L and my buddy's EB was pulling a tad bit more weight and was 1.0L/100km better. I found that pretty strange over a 800km trip.

yeah I would expect it then. this was a near empty trailer... it also seemed to hunt for gears more than i thought it would reading all the posts on this site.
still pulled decent though i guess. just not as great as i thought it was going to. hoping to get the boat hooked up this weekend and see how it does with that.

Keepin' the lights on!
At what elevation are you towing at?
Your mpg should improve as you log more miles. It took my truck 20k miles to finally get decent mpg.

you will NOT get more mpg with mileage. Atleast that's what I and the vast majority of the folks have experienced. There is no "magical" 3k, 10k, 15k or 20k mileage jump. I'e learned to deal with the EB getting **** for mileage, but screams when you want speed.
