Is this King Ranch worth looking at?
Ok I came across a 2009 King Ranch that I like a lot. It appears to be in excellent shape and the dealership has the carfax available - says one owner, no accidents. Fully loaded (Heated/Cooled seats, nav, sensors, camera, moonroof, sony sound system, power slider) and it is already leveled. Is this truck worth it? Should I move on to another truck? If I continue to deal on this truck, what should I worry about going wrong at 105,000 mile or in the near future?
105,000 miles
4x4
Loaded
6.5' Bed
Was $24,500 Now $22,495

I would look for phaser issues and vct problems as well. Plus just a general look around of the truck. Make sure it's not been wrecked. I mean check every thing that you can. The 5.4 is very reliable you just have to take really good care of them.

Thanks for the fast replies! It is not at a Ford dealer and I can't get really get a good look at it unless I decided I really want it - it is 3 1/2 hours away from me lol. It seems like I can't find any deals in PA, everyone wants top dollar. My other options are like a 2012 5.0 STX SuperCab or XLT if I am lucky. I really want a SuperCrew if I can get my hands on one but my price range is really limiting me as to what I find. That is where this KR comes into play. I have 111,000 on my 2004 5.4 now so I know what problems this engine has... I just don't know if most of them have been corrected in the 2009 motor.

The dealership has an A+ rating with the BBB and has overall good reviews from customers. There are the occasional bad reviews but that's everywhere because you can't make everyone happy.

They also offer a 2 year/24,000 mile warranty on their vehicles.

It appears you are already aware of the issues the 5.4 has/had if you own a 2004. I had sworn off FORD all together after my 2004 f150 experience. Now here I am in a 2014 eco.
It certainly must have impressed me cause FORD was at the bottom of my list when I started looking in '13.

That's a very pretty truck for sure Love the King Ranch interiors.
I'd check the sunroof multiple times, make sure it opens and closes without and grinding or popping noises. Also make sure it tips / vents up and down like it should. That's an expensive repair at the dealer or a pain in the butt repair if you opt to do it yourself. I just went through that on my 2012 FX2, luckily it was still in the Carmax 30 day warranty window.
Good luck!
