Sony system with My Ford Touch
Sitting in a 2013 F150 platinum ecoboost at the dealership, and I must say, I don't know what all you guys are talking about, but this Sony system doesn't sound bad at all! It sounds good actually, very clear and not too much to handle. And this is coming from someone who has a fully custom stereo in his truck. I have a pioneer touch screen double din, JL audio sub, amps, door speakers and custom JL audio tweeters. The Sony system is legit.

I filled my sub with polly fill as well and would still like more bass. Is there a better sub that would be a direct plug and play with original harness? If the 13's system is improved, would we be able to just get a 13's sub and replace with ours? Also, is there a better sub we can just drop in to our OEM box?

Ditto - Was there are resolution to this - mentioned someplace else?

Checkout the Kicker Soundgate! It looks oem, and simple to instal. But Outperforms the factory Sony 8"! Im hoping to get one for my birthday....

I believe? One review on Crutchfield's site is from a 2011 Limited, or Lariat owner w/Sony stereo!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I was hesitant to purchase this item at first as I could not find a review on it, or see any installation pictures. But All said and done this thing hits hard. I have a 2011 F150 Limited with the factory Sony navigation and I hated the stereo in it, especially the sub woofer, The louder I turned the volume up the quieter the sub got. I was told the sony nav has an equalizer in it that senses bass levels and controls it. With this Soundgate Substage sub not anymore, the more I turn it up the louder it gets. I could not be happier with my purchase. I have my bass setting at zero and it hits plenty.
When I was first looking around at vehicle specific sub woofers the only thing I could find was the JL Audio stealth box. What they don't tell you about it is you have to move your spare tire jack and tools located under the rear seat. And of course you have to run a amp to it, so there goes all your space under the rear seats. The soundgate substage I didn't loose any space. I had my local stereo shop install it for me $125.00.
The only issue I have with soundgate substage is it's 6" wider, and about an 1" taller so what happens is the box pushes down on the factory floor mat so much I have to unscrew the box and lift it up just to pull the floor mat out, and I'm worried if someone sits in that seat they'll be pushin the sub woofer down to the floor causing it to slap the woofer. The solution here would be to cut the floor mat around the sub.
Pros:
Hits Hard for a single 10 You don't loose any space under the rear seat. No cutting or drilling for install.
Cons:
Cheap Plastic Box. Taller than the factory sub woofer box you may need to take out your floor mat in the rear, or don't let anyone sit in that seat.
