I literally hear you about switching to the Sony wires, when the system sounds great as it's setup now. Tough getting motivated to fix what ain't broke...but I do have to know.

When I get back home from holiday traveling, I will switch mine to try it out. Hoping someone else does a comparison first

2010 KR with Sony system and my sub wires are completely different looking than what is posted a few pages back, cannot seem to get signal to kicker sub this way although tapping into front speaker wires works fine.

Any advice on sub wires is welcome as I think tapping in this way will sound even better. If I fade to the rear, then I lose sub so...

If I cannot get this to work, then I am thinking of tapping into all 4 door speaker wires so the sub will work know matter balance or fade.

Appreciate any help in advance.

Can you post a pic of the stock Sony harness with the wires?

Just tried it and there is sound, but very weak...I even swapped wires to confirm, then reconnected to front speaker wires leaving volume and song alone and it really thumps that way.

I should say that I am testing the sub by inserting the bare wires into the harness at the appropriate wire, could this cause the signal to be so weak?

It "could" but as long as there's a solid connection it should be fine. That's how I tested mine.
The only other wires I would think to try are the purple/red and black yellow.

Edit: Nevemind that won't work either. Sorry still waking up and didn't read the diagram I saw right. It should be the purple/green green/white wires. Here's the wiring for 2010 Sony sub.

Thank man. I will post if it works...if not, then I will go with the 4 speaker option.
