Before you buy it you need to be the one that starts the truck on a cold start when it has been sitting for at least 1/2 day. If you hear a bad rattle on start up, dont walk, run from the truck. My 2012 only has 39k and it did it for the first time last week. I took it into the dealership and it was my timing chain and cams. Thankfully the truck was still under warranty. Its about a $4000 repair.
With the 3.5 ecoboost? Odd that you say that because the dealer had kind of pushed to meet me somewhere with the truck but I am also coming from a hour away to see it
My used 2011 came with a bumper to bumper warranty for 3 months and a 1 year drivetrain warranty. My back windshield defroster was inop (common for certain years I guess) and they replaced it for free. There are reports of the defroster failing and causing the window to explode.
Body is in good shape, beautiful truck. Under has some surface rust from the north east salt. There was a 5th wheel bracket in the bed. Has airbags in the rear.
Interior is in excellent shape.
Could feel and hear shudder if I tried hard to listen to it. Is this really a deal breaker issue?
Didnt get to hear the cold start for timing chain issues but it has a lifetime motor warranty thru a third party with
regulations to meet.
''13 Screw Max tow 3.5 157 3.73 35k miles....
dealer didn't want to budge from $33k ($30k list $3k taxes + reg) out the door.
You need to be the one to start it on cold start. I love the power of the ecoboost but if it doesn't have the new parts it could be a major problem for you.
