Default Key Not Working

Hello all,
I drive a 2014 F150 FX4 and I am having problems with my key.
Every once in a while I hit the unlock button on the key and nothing happens, same with the lock button. When I keep smashing that s*** nothing happens and I end up having to open the door to press the button inside the truck.

What do you guys recommend doing?

Thanks!

Welcome to the world of Ford Keyless entry. My truck will sometimes do the same thing. To reset it I have to use the door keypad, or open and close the door. Then the remote works just fine. I had 2 Explorer's over the last 15 years that would do the same thing. It's like the remotes lose sinc with the truck occasionally.

Edit: FYI changing batteries and remotes had no effect on the problem.

Raven2210 - Not sure if this will help or even if it is applicable... but your symptoms sound very similar to what happens to my wife's 07 Tahoe. On the tahoe it is a matter of the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) going into sleep mode. but once you open the door and/or close it it will work again for a bit. If there is a fuse labled (LCDR... or similar in the F150) may be able to pull that and reset it.

Again... this may be completely unhelpful. I have no search function on this computer and am away from my truck to check. if so... sorry.

Have you tried replacing the battery in the remote?

I was having problems with my key not working sometimes. I opened it up and cleaned the contacts. They were dirty somehow. It fixed the issue and haven't had a problem since.

Yea same here, really sucks though. I'm just hoping I don't get into a sticky situation and my key works lol.

Thanks for your response man

Just pop open the key and clean the contacts for the battery. That's what fixed mine.
