Default tool boxes

I hate to start a new topic that has probable been covered but I cant seem to find what I am looking for. I am looking to put a tool box/ transfer tank combo in the bed of the truck. I have the super crew with a 5 1/2 foot bed so I have the wheel hump real close to the back of the bed. I have looked a lot online but cant find a thing. I would like to just buy a combo box but I am willing to build one. I just don't want to build one and later find out that there was one for about the same price. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm a fan of TransferFlow. Excellent quality and great integration with your dashboard gas guage, but expensive. They make one combo tank/toolbox that is 49" wide for late-model Ford "HD" pickups. I suspect that means SuperDuty and not F-150, but instead of building your own from scratch, maybe use that one as the starting point and modify it as needed to fit in your F-150.

My 2012 F-150 SuperCrew is a hair more than 49" beween the wheelwells. Depending on exactly where the "(add 4 1/2" on driver's side for emissions canister)" is attached (high or low), it might even fit without modification. But if not, it shouldn't be too difficult to move that canister up above the wheelwells.

Here are the dimentions of that toolbox:
Aluminized Steel (Powder Coated Black) Toolbox & Fuel Tank Combo Dimensions
30 Gallon Toolbox Tank
Outside dimensions
49" Length (add 4 1/2" on driver's side for emissions canister)
18 1/2" Wide
(add 3” to allow for mounting brackets)
20 1/4" High
Storage area = 5.1 cubic ft.

So I'd discuss it with TransferFlow, or maybe drive to my nearest TransferFlow installer and ask if they will install that combo in my F-150. If they won't, then just buy it uninstalled and DIY.

Or if you prefer a bigger tank from a different source, here's one that will work in your 5" bed:

That one is a "transfer tank" instead of an auxiliary tank. To use it, you need to add a pump to transfer the gasoline to your OEM gas tank. Or to convert it into an auxiliary tank, you need to somehow plumb the transfer tank into your stock gas tank and use gravity flow to transfer the gas.

If it were a diesel, Northern Tool sells a kit needed to do the job. "This RDS kit is designed to connect your auxiliary diesel fuel tank to your truck's fuel fill hose to provide consistent gravity feed of fuel. Automatically controls the fuel level going into your OEM tank so that it does not overfill. Easy, simple installation. Kit includes hose, clamps and fittings. Intended for diesel fuel only. U.S.A."

I don't know their reasoning that it can't be used for gasoline except gasoline is more volatile and thus more easily turned into a roaring fire.

Check out Tractor Supply also. I was scoping low-profile tool boxes and saw some combo ones that you mention. But I have the extended-range 36 gal tank already so I didn't give those boxes a real look.
