Default key fob issue

So I have been having this issue. I have remote start and I tried starting it the other day and it didnt do anything so I tried unlocking the truck and nothing wanted to work tail lights did not flash I had to use my key to unlock the truck. I started the truck drove home and after I parked at home I tried again and everything works fine. Today after I got off work I was having the same issue. I dont want to take it to dealer cause they wont do anything if it doesnt happen to them. I looked under the hood and cables to battery were tight. Any ideas??

Change the battery in the key fob first. Then the dealer visit if the new battery doesn't help.

There is actually a TSB for this... and all they do is change out the silicone piece in the key with one of a slightly different design

YW!

to open... stick a coin or flat head in the one open corner next to where the key ring goes, one side has a larger gap, you will see it.

one of my fobs is doing the same thing... I've been getting pretty sick of the race to the ignition to avoid the alarm.

I bet $$$ if you put your old batteries back in it will work just as good. Had the same issue with mine not long ago and reseating the original battery is all it took.

Actually, playing with the batteries was the first thing i did....and still had sporadic issues. A pair of new batteries was $3.50
