Default Kenwood backup cam location

I have a Kenwood CMOS-200 backup cam and I'm looking for ideas for where to mount.

On top of the license plate housing but make sure it doesn't get hit by the gate

Yea I've considered that already and it will clear the gate but I thought maybe there's some place better that I've overlooked.

anything is possible with a dremel You'll need the emblem too as the ones with camera housings are smaller than the non-cam models.

the only issue you will have is when you go to take the gate off, you'll need to splice in a connector which may be easier said than done

Yes I'm aware of the different size emblem and the need to have plug for gate removal but the question is will the cam I have fit in the emblem (the one made for factory cam) without doing alot of mickey mouseing to make fit ?

I have the Kenwood CMOS-310 mounted in the OEM camera emblem from Tasca with minor modifications.

This looks the way to go, I'm thinking my 200 should be the same size as your 310 or close to it. Did you cut the wireing and add a connector for gate removal if so what did you use for a connector ? Do you rember what it cost you for emblem ?
