Ranger is History, Is the F100 next?
I hope so, in a few years I'll trade my 2012 F150 in if there is a F100 and it is a scaled down version. Love my F150 but by then something a bit smaller will be plenty.

What is the Ridgeline good at? I mean really, other than a glorified Pilot, what does it do really, really well as a truck?

They aren't bringing anything. why produce the ranger at all anymore. The reason for a ranger was a truck that got good gas mileage with a reasonable price. Now, the f150 gets better mileage than it did, and costs almost the same. And its a hell of a lot more truck.

The Ranger has become outdated and in a few years the goverment is adding more safety regulations, just like the ranger, the Ford Econoline will have to go through some new design changes to meet them. Ford feels its best move is to discontinue both of these models...... what a shame....

They wont replace it. They have enough configurations of the current F-150 to meet the needs of would be Ranger owners.
Here is a pic of my Ranger I just got rid of for ****s and grins.

No market for mid-size trucks anymore. I have a Dakota until my FX2 comes in...
The Dakota for me was the perfect sized truck. Not too small and had decent towing capability. Problem is that they ultimately didn't sell well... As dodge priced them too close to the full size trucks. They saw Dakota as a model that ate into their higher margin full size sales.
I think we'll see the return of the mid-size several years down the road. Rumor is Dodge is going to try a "lifestyle" truck similar to the ridge line, and Ford already had/has one with the sport track.
I think people will come back to compact and mid size trucks eventually. Perhaps higher gas prices will be the motivator.
