question about homelink vs car2u for new garage door opener
I have a 2010, and I'm about to get a new garage door opener, which apparently will require me to get a bridge to use the opener buttons in my truck. I believe I have homelink and not Car2U in the truck. Can anyone verify this? I didn't even know there were differences until now...

Homelink has a house on it and Cars2u does not

Let us know if you get it to work. After Homelink sending me a special box (?) to link the new opener, it never has worked... at all. I finally just gave up. I have a LiftMaster opener (w/rotating code).

Most openers are Homelink compatible.

Compatible: yes.
Actually work: maybe (or no)
I tried pairing the opener to my Homelink about 30 times. No go...

i bought new chamberlain garage door openers. i found online that they will only work with homelink in cars 2015 and up or something around there. i had to buy the bridge in order to get it to work. the biggest issue that the bridge module has when programming it is the type of light bulbs you have on the opener. if theres an led or fluorescent bulb(s) in there, it screws with the programming and it doesnt work. i had to unscrew the led light bulbs on my openers while programming the bridge in order to get it to work correctly. thats just for programming. after you program them, screw the lightbulbs back in and everything works fine.
i have a homelink bridge and a car 2 u bridge in my garage as my f150 and expedition have car 2 u and my fusion has homelink.
