Default just a simple "saying hello"

Wanted to say hello, I have been following this site for a while trying to make up my mind on a new F150. I had an 04 6.0L SD KR but wanted to get into a smaller truck. Finally decided after weighing pro's and con's of all the different models to this.

6.2L F150 Platinum Screw 4x4, max tow

I had mentally said 3.5L for over a week but finally had to be honest with myself that I'm just not ready for all that technology. I use my trucks and then they sit, keep them a long time, ride them hard and put them up wet (but only average 8k miles per year). If I could put 100k miles on one in 5 or 6 years, I would have gone for it.

I hope the 6.2L and 6speed is a good combination. Hopefully all the electrical doo-dads won't fail from age in a few years.

You picked a great site for information. These guy's are always happy to help with any questions or concerns. I just picked up a 2012 XLT. Several members on here really helped me out.

Welcome. There's a few guys on here with the 6.2L who will help you out a lot. It's a great engine choice for the max tow. Post up some pictures though, because as they like to say on this forum - without pictures it never happened.

Before you buy test drive them all, you might be surprised what you want after that!

Thanks for all the welcomes. As for test drives, I don't trust my passion as much as my head when it comes to living with a vehicle. I have no doubt I would find them all great combos during the drive. I just wanted something that can tow, sit unused while I fly, be comfortable when I'm in town, and fit in a garage. Max tow forced my choices down to two and of them, I made a choice. I'll know in 10 years if it was the right one or not.

I will say my old 6.0L diesel was bought as a powerful, fuel efficient, and quiet truck. It was reflashed over the years into a loud, not as powerful, not as efficient truck. The rules kept changing on me but the truck did give good service.
