Door Detent 3.0: The "Back Door" Edition
Here's a quick update on the Screw rear door version of Northlight Labs Door Detent 3.0.
As recently discussed in this thread.....we are looking at placing the new "Just Right" detent in a position that will cause the door to stop at the same distance out from the truck as DD3.0-equipped front doors.
The new rear door detent will be the same depth as the front door detent to deliver a similar "door holdiness" factor.
And...yes..we are also looking at machining the other existing rear door check assembly detent to the similar depth and angles.
The Northlight Labs mountain-top warehouse is brimming with "uncut" rear door check assemblies. Our five-axis computer controlled Orthodox Moil is actively awaiting the go-ahead to start slicing and dicing on the most sensitive parts of F150 anatomy.

Mom called. Said "FREE SHIPPING" is such a bargain!
Now through Mother's Day, the family-focused folks at northlight labs are offering automatic FREE SHIPPING on the innovative triple detent DD3.0 for all 2009-2013 F-150s.
Other Mother's Sons on f150forum.com are already enjoying the convenience and ding 'n' dent preventing confidence of F-150 front doors that now open "Just Right".
Here's what one young man had to say: "Northlight, you solved my biggest gripe about this truck. I park on a sloping driveway and dealt with this for almost 4 years, not to mention in parking lots and with kids. Thank you a million times over."
So don't miss out. Now's the time to go from "Too Close In" and "Too Far Out" to "Just Right" with Door Detent 3.0.
Take a look at www.northlightlabs.com to learn all about DD3.0.
You Mom will be very proud of you!
Have a Happy Mother's Day from Peter and Mary at northlight labs

I don't have time to go back and read the 34 pages of info. Is there a package deal for the four doors on a screw? If so can you direct me to the page to order? This is a direct replacement with new parts? I am not sending you my parts after install?

Shaggy1970: No need to read....
...all 34 pages. Though it is pretty exciting in certain places
Right now only, the front door DD3.0 is available.
Probably about 30 days before we have the "back door" version ready to ship. There will be a package deal for a set of front/back DD3.0s. And there will be a discount for those who previously purchased the front door set.
These are direct replacement brand new Ford door check assemblies that have been precision machined with the third "Just Right" detent.
To maintain quality control, we only use new door check assemblies. On previously installed (used) parts we have seen cracking on the cup-shaped rubber seal. Additionally the gasket on the face of the assembly is a one-time use item and (like the cup-shaped rubber seal) is not available as a replacement part.
Please take a look at the northlight labs website for complete ordering information: www.northlightlabs.com
Through the Mother's Day weekend we are offering "FREE SHIPPING, too.
Thank you very much for your interest!

Need some help with pasenger side...
Drivers side was piece of cake. But I need some ideas for passenger side install.
I cannot get the passenger side rubber cover off. On my 2012 FX4 it is wedged behind some kind of fuse block. Between that and all the wires, it just will not come out. To make matters worse, I was so confident after doing the driver side I released the detente into the black hole before I attempted to remove the rubber cover and now it's lodged in the frame and I can't pull it back up.
Anybody remove the big fuse block for better access? I need to get that rubber cover off if I'm going to have any chance of retrieving the detente. I do have it attached to a string...but the larger part of the detente is lodged and I can't pull it out.
Thanks for any help.

I think you can disconnect the harness and if need be remove the fuse block from wall. Have you tried pulling out the triangle piece at the end of the dash? It may give you a bit more room.
