"Just Right" Door Detent: Possible Mod

The door check is mounted with one bolt at the end of the arm on the door and with two threaded studs/nuts on the opposite end attached from the inside of the body.
I will have to take off the lower kick panels on the left and right sides to get access to the door check and remove it from the inside.
The door check arm is made of a plastic material....so it is not "weight bearing"...meaning it is not part of the alignment of the door itself.
As with anything like this, there will be a learning process on how to get the kick panels off and clear the way to remove the door check.
If anyone has access to service manual that shows how to remove the door check....or knows how to do it, please let me know.
The staff and management of Northlight Labs is always happy to hear helpful suggestions from interested parties....and future Northlight Labs stockholders. You'll be the first to get information on the upcoming IPO!
Thanks,
Northlight

Are you taking pre-orders for this yet? Lol
Someone should have lost their job over this incredibly obvious nonsensical engineering decision.
Maybe someone who owns a door dent removal company tampered with the CNC programming of this part? Which by the way happens to be on the largest selling vehicle in the country

Even the doors on scale model F150s.....
....open too wide!
Found this model at the LA Auto Show......I know it's a Raptor....but it's the only scale model I've been able to find that's even close to my FX4.....
Oh....door check arms are ordered...should get them to the machinist by the middle of this week.

Raceman: Interesting Idea....
...Could you shoot a picture and send it along?
Does the strap just prevent the door from going all the way out?
Thanks,
Northlight
