I have had my truck for six months and 8500 miles now, and I have to say.... SYNC is more trouble than it's worth. It doesn't consistantly connect to my phones. Sometimes I can't even turn it on. It just switches right over to AM radio. Other times it will connect to the phone portion of my droid, but not to the audio player. Sometimes it is the other way around.
Am I in the minority, or are other people experiencing the same unreliability of this feature? I have tried with both Iphone and two generations of android powered phones, with the same outcome.

yup. SYNC sucks. Told my dealer I didn't want it, and wasn't willing to pay extra for it. Trouble is, Ford is so stupid proud of that piece of garbage that it practically comes in every truck on the lot.

Don't worry, you're not going crazy or anything. It's true, sync option is a waste of money in my opinion. I have an iPhone and I hardly use the Bluetooth Audio feature since it sometimes messes up my BT connection after. I saw in some forums here that Droids are a perfect match for sync but I guess you're an exception. It seems though that the only reason my Sync would mess up is when I use the Bluetooth Audio feature. If I plug it in the USB, it hardly have any issues except one time where it said Bad USB connection which I just unplugged then plugged back again and it had no issues after. My suggestion, stop using BT Audio and just plug it in the USB. Everything else, I think Sync is just a lazy way of pressing the function buttons on the steering wheels or dash. Good luck!!!

SYNC has always worked perfectly in the 2011 Mustang GT I had, and so far is working great in my F150.

LOVE sync in my 2010. Works great with my iphone. One of the best features of the truck.

It is the Sync 2 that has troubles. For those of us with 2010 models or earlier with Sync 1 we have no issues. Ford will straighten it out. There is a new version out so make sure you update.
