Just how bad are stock Pirelli's?

I've heard people say the stock Pirelli's are bad here and there. But for various reasons id like to see just how many people I can get to say just how bad they are. Thanks all

They suck in snow, wear out fast, near impossible to balance. Just to name a few

I feel there fine on dry pavement but not smooth or quiet. (MS2's-my next tires). They suck on wet roads and there tread wears extremely fast.

Awful. I came around a slight bend doing 15 kph on ice and slid uncontrollably sideways in between 2 trees, 2 months after I got my truck.

They are not that bad. There are 100's of worse alternatives. 3 of the 4 on this truck have less than 2 ounces of weights. I had no problem on snow and ice. They are quiet and smooth. If you do your part and rotate and balance them at regular intervals, and don't see how much rubber you can burn off of them they will last 40k miles. And a little hint, most tire sidewalls will weather check faster if the vehicle sits out in the elements, rather than in a garage. And **** products like Armorall will accelerate the weather cracking. Use something that has a rubber conditioner like Adam's detailing products. I put 38k on a set of these exact same tires on a 2wd Yukon, and drove it places most people don't have the balls to take a big SUV, let alone a 2wd big SUV. Are they great tires?....no. Do they suffice for 90+% of drivers?....Abso-fricking-lutely.

I have about 25k miles on them and never had a problem. however, I live in Miami, Fl. I have never used them in snow. The definitely do not appear to be snow tires. In the rain there o.k. I do drive easy when it is raining.

They were stock on my 2013 FX4. I think they ride fine and are quiet. I will not use them in winter, so that will not be an issue for me.

Having said that, I am going to try and sell the, The 275 55 20's just don't have the look I want. want about 34" in height

techrep 11-12-2013 07:16 PM

they suck ass...flat spot in the cold...suck in the snow and like stated above just ok in the rain...took them off at 7K and sold them for $400...lol

FX4HAWAII 11-12-2013 07:28 PM

I have them on my 2012 fx4 screw and I haven't had a problem with them, but of course I don't have to worry about snow since I live in Hawaii. They do good in rain here and not to bad in sand. I also like the fact that they are smooth and quiet, but when they wear down will i buy another set, no. I will buy something bigger and more aggressive looking. But for most people i think these tires are fine.

they were stock on my 2010 lariat
i managed to get a little over 48,000 out of them before they were so slick its was dangerous
my truck was 2wd and I never really had traction issues until the last 10k miles or so
