I have it better than any of that. My daughter has me on her Sirius account and it doesn't cost me anything. I just keep on enjoying.

Yup. I just set a reminder on my phone. I had 6 months for 25$ after my free trial. Then a few days before the 6 months were up, I called back and told them to cancel unless I could get the same deal again. The guy rambled on a bit trying to sell me on higher priced packages (didn't bother me, that's his job). Told him again, 25 for 6 or I walk. Put me on hold, talked to his manager and got it for me. Done deal, no problems. Set another reminder in my phone a few days before the next renewal date and plan to do it all over again. Easy peasy.

Exactly right. That's what I have done with the past 3 Ford's and have always gotten a great deal. I love SiriusXM.

We are not renewing once our trial is over. It's a great service... When it is free. Not worth 10 cents to me though.

Especially since you have Bluetooth and then download the tunein app on your Android device. ...listen to anything you want!-free.

I was tempted to renew after my free subscription expired but didn't trust them to allow me the option of renewing on my own terms. But someone gave me a Visa gift card several months ago so I figured I would give them a shot. Turns out their computer will not accept payment from a card that isn't tied to me in some financial way. Figured right then they were set up to bang my card without my approval so I bailed on the deal.

I tried to like it but it's honestly not worth it to me. The sound quality sucks but they do have a few all-talk channels that I liked. I'm not a big fan of talk radio but sometimes on a 6 hour drive the change of pace is okay. Now I DL my talk shows to my PC and copy them to a USB drive, listen when I want and delete them when I'm done. It's not quite as easy as having a radio preset but it works for me.

I have had XM and/or Sirius since it was first offered ... and have loved it since day 1, and will NEVER go back to local/terrestrial radio again. Anyone who thinks it's a big deal to keep up with your account every 6 months to a year (however you set it up) is just lazy. And yes, if you bargain with them (ie: tell them you're going to cancel your subscription) they will undoubtedly offer you a much better deal to keep you as a customer.

I hardly listen to any stations that have music on them. I'm either listening to news or sports radio 99% of the time. Only time music comes on is when the wife and/or kids are with me and we decide to have the radio on instead of just having conversation while driving around. And even then, it's a crap shoot as to whether we turn on a music station, or just load up something off our phones - pandora, downloaded music, etc.

Long story short, if you like TALK radio (sports/news/politics) then having SiriusXM is the ONLY way to go, and is well worth the price even at regular prices. If all you want is music, then I'd say use pandora or your own downloaded music ... you get to hear what you want, and it's typically better quality sound too.

Yes, sound quality sucks and is getting worse.
Yes, their business model sucks ('Well try to screw you on pricing and give you a semi-decent deal only if you play the BS game and threaten to cancel every three-six months")
Yes, their auto-renew, can't-cancel in advance system, we'll send you off to collections if we auto-renew you and you don't pay policy sucks.

Their music selection only semi-sucks.

Yup, I still subscribe in one vehicle. The only reason is I do lots of mountain driving outside of any radio or cell (for streaming audio) coverage. But I find it increasingly difficult to in any way support a company with such reprehensible business practices, and my current subscription will be my last.

Talk about your "first world" problems. Thanks for the info, but at the same time count your blessings!

After my 3-month trial they started when I bought the truck (used), I didn't reactivate it. We have far too many monthly payments right now as it is.
