cool, just be aware to STOP checking your MPG once you're in Cali. We have the worst MPG gas due to major air quality restrictions. It's the cleanest burning gas but also produces crappy MPG. I'm at 13.6mpg 50% city/50% hwy driving.

Seems like a nice road trip. You're going to love San Diego. Thanks for your service to our great country.

Stopped overnight in phoenix. I must have taken the wrong exit bc man it is ghetto. I looked out the window like every 5 mins to check on my truck...o well next stop las Vegas , taking a detour.

You got lower mileage because of the mountains and the 80mph speed limit out there between Junction and Fort Stockton and then again from Fort Stockton out to Van Horn as well

It's a LONG lonely trip out there, but it's a nice drive from Phoenix out to San Diego. I made the drive out there and back to Austin a few years ago. Aside from the Dept of Agriculture checking me for diseased fruit, it was a good drive

PHX is a **** hole. I hate it. Looks like a fun trip... I am planning on moving to Dublin, OH in a month or two. 1800 miles and I will be towing.
