Default Just bought a new Black FX4, the dust is killing me

The dealer detailed the truck for me on Tuesday, it's clean but has dust on it. Can I just rinse the truck off and get the dust off without actually rubbing it down with a mitt and soap? Or will that leave dirt spots on it?

it will probably leave water spots. has to be washed and dried to keep the spots off.

ok, thanks, what is a good item to dry them with out there, will just a regular towel work. I had an old beater for years, not used to keeping a truck clean

After you wash it, wipe it down with a good quality chamois, and then go over it with a micro fiber towel, I find this works best.

Don't use a towell on the black your going to get scratches. The only towell to use are microfiber I use those for wax. Some say the absorber causes scratches but this is what I use to dry but just make sure the vehicle is truly clean before you dry if you wash and then see dust look at the California duster or something similar cuz after an hour of washing your going to notice dust. These are just my opinions of course

x2 on the California Duster. Google it if you’re not familiar with it.

Dark colors are a pain in the butt to keep clean, but they look so awesome when they are clean! I had a black Mustang, a black company truck and now a dark blue F150 and they look so sharp in my opinion. I wouldn't ever consider lighter colors anymore.

Use a leaf blower to dry the truck. That will reduce the swirl marks considerably. And use a California Duster to just get dust off.

The duster is great, just make sure you get the "Original California Duster", not a knock-off. The knock-off just rearranges the dust.

I do the duster, and then use a detailer spray with a micro-fiber towel when-ever it gets dusty.

The better detailers actually leave a smooth finish behind just like after a wax. Makes bugs and waterspots much easier to remove.

Just make sure you dust first so you are not wiping dirt into your finish.
