Just bought 2012 FX4 in Canada - good deal?
Howdy. Just signed for my first truck and think I got a pretty good deal. Pick it up next week pending finance approval which should be no problem. The page I signed had high rate at 96 months? I questioned them and they said they always start high and if I have good credit it will be brought down. I put down $500 and they said they'd refund it if things don't work with the finance or get the lower rate.
2012 FX4 Ecoboost, Supercab, Oxford White, Luxury Package, Rear Cam, Remote Start, and Tailgate Step. CDN Sticker: 52099.00
Rebate: $7000.00 (was 6500.00 then they said there was another $500 rebate)
Employee discount: 6402.00
Total 38697.00 + 700 admin + 5% tax
Is there anything crucial I need to do for next week.. any additional warranty? I know they'll try to sell extra's when the finance is approved. I was planning on denying all and do the rust-check application from a shop in town. Or is there something I should consider?

Seems like a decent price for us up here in canda, with it being closer to the 13's coming out you could maybe get a little bit more out of them. But still doesnt seem like a bad price overall

Congrats on the new truck! I really like white FX4's, nice contrast with the black accents.
Ah the beauty of Alberta with only GST - beats the 13% we have the privilege of paying.
I trust you compared admin fees at a few dealerships. I found a pretty wide variance in Ontario.
I would recommend passing on the dealer's "lifetime" rust proofing. Had it on my current truck and am not impressed. I know lots of trucks that have the oil spray applied annually and they have lasted much better.
Cheers

I wasn't sure on the admin.. the first dealer I talked to was 1000 the 2nd was 775. This last one the admin fee was high, like 1250 or something.. and I said it was too high and mentioned the 775 and we worked out 700.
What would be a good admin charge. (they said it included a few things but i can't remember now)

I paid 38 thousand out the door in 2010 minus the ecoboost and remote starter, but I did get supercrew and 6.5 bed. If I was looking today, I would go buy Toyota Tundra, way better deals on the now and better resale value.

The Dealership I bought my truck from has no adm/doc fee. None the less, its going to vary from place to place.. But I have seen them all over the place while looking at vehicles a coupe of years ago

That's an amazing deal for an FX4 in Canada. I paid just under 31k for a loaded XTR supercab 4x4 with the 3.7 V6. Plus I had to pay another %12 in taxes. But I only paid $400 in admin fees.
