IWE replacement cost
So what am I looking at, realistically, to get an IWE repaired at a Ford dealer? I know they’re gonna try to overcharge me, but what is an average cost for those who’ve had it done?

I don't know through Ford but in can be done in a driveway in less than an hour. The part was $100 from Autozone.

If I decide to attempt this fix myself, is there anything in particular that I need to do to make sure I don't make the same mistake the shop did when they messed it up installing my leveling kit? Watching youtube videos, it seems like a pretty straight-forward install. What happens to damage the IWE during install? Is it not properly lining up the teeth on the IWE with the drive shafts?

Ford f150 - xlt 2018 iwe
I'm getting screwed so I might as well help others. I have the grinding noises. Took it to FORD. I needed spark plugs, fuel injector service and a transmission flush. In addition, i needed a new IWE. After sharing this wonderful video with FORD, compliments to Homestead Handyman on YouTube, 2013 F150 noises 4x4 Grinding/Humming Noise. The video captured the noise perfectly, and I brought that video to FORD. Still, the shop insisted I need a new IWE before anything else. $700.00. FORD is billing the part as a "4WD Actuator". My insurance won't cover it because they only cover, "actuators". AUL Insurance sucks like that. I have to file a BBB complaint for that. I wish I would have seen this forum and put the part in myself. Live and learn. Please learn from this. Later today I hope to have no grinding - I will update as I find out.

The first time I brought my truck in for what i know now as the IWE noise, FORD found $3800.00 worth of engine repairs. Never heard the noise they said.
