I've got a rental F-150..

I just recently had to send the truck to the body shop for 4k+ of hail damage and was in a rental for a week. I wish they would of given me a Ecoboost but they did give me a brand new 2014 base Screw 5.0 with 500 miles. Interior looked exactly like the one you got.

Your assessment is very consistent with my experiences between my 2011 and 2013 trucks with the EcoBoost; really was like driving two different trucks with the 2013 being more refined, came with more features, and the Eco performance seemed better too (factory ECU remapping). I could light up the bigger tires on my setup too!

It's kind of interesting to drive one with higher miles. Really gives you a good perspective on how the truck ages. I took my rental down to the river to join my friend in doing some evening fly fishing, I drove it over some pretty heavy dried river bed rock. Solid as a bank vault, zero rattles. Super surprising considering the fact that it's probably been bagged.

Another thing I like are the Michelin LTX AT2 tires on this truck. Way smoother and quieter than my MS2's.

Well, it'll be time to give the truck back tomorrow morning. I've enjoyed it and I'm now fully enlightened as to how the 2013+ ecoboost holds up with 33k miles of, well, rental service. It's still as smooth and quiet as it was brand new, something that couldn't be said for my 2011. I'm glad Ford worked on the long term refinement of this motor.
Just look at the tires! Someone's been enjoying this truck a bit much!

And no, that's not from me. Lol.

When I travel for work I try to rent a truck if possible. I have rented a ram with the hemi, open diff, and 6 speed transmission. It seems like a nice truck. Hemi had power but you have to wind it up to get to it. Next I rented a 4x2 F150 screw ecoboost with open diff with same features as the OP. It blew it away , if it had 3:55's it would be even better. Instant power and handled great. I don't like the folding console/ seat, I prefer a dedicated console. Next I will rent a Chevy or Toyota .

My truck is in the body shop getting it's mirror replaced and a couple dents taken care of. Enterprise rental is awesome, they rented to me (being under 25) regardless of their rules, no problem due to my insurance covering the damage though my insurance company paid an extra liability fee. Enterprise initially said they couldn't give me a truck, but someone was wrong. I thought I was going to be stuck in some ****box Fiesta but it turns out they sent me on my way with a 2013 XLT SuperCrew Ecoboost to drive for a few days! My face lit right up when he brought out the keys! The truck is the base of the base 4x4 Supercrew. No options. 3.31 rear end, open diff. No heated mirrors, no "Selectshift" transmission, no tow hitch and no power seats. In Canada, this is the lowest SuperCrew you can get. Regardless, still an F-150 and still a mighty fine truck. Jumped in, set my seat up and looked at the odometer. It read 54,000km -- 33k miles which is just a tiny bit less than the mileage my 2011 was at when I sold it. So I'd say it's a pretty fair comparison between the years. Ford made some definite improvements between 2011 and 2013, because the 2013 is way better than the 2011 even at the same mileage. Smoother, quieter and not quirky like mine was. No misfires or low throttle lugging, No weird turbo noises and the turbo lag is well-hidden with Ford's programming. The 2011 lagged and then the turbos stepped in and kicked me right in the face, which was bothersome in traffic. It was difficult to be smooth with it. The 2013 doesn't do this, Even with the tall highway gears. It's also much quieter than the 2011 was, with maybe half as much engine noise getting into the cabin vs the 2011. I don't care to compare it to my 5.0 because that's not the road I want to take this thread down. The ride is fantastic, even better than my 2013. I'll chalk that up to the 17" wheels and softer shocks. I prefer it to my 2013's ride, way more plush on the highway. The truck is also extremely solid for the mileage, zero rattles even though it's a rental! Overall I'm very impressed with the extra R&D and refinement Ford did on the Ecoboost. If I knew it was going to hold up at this mileage, unlike my '11 that felt like the motor was going to blow apart, I may have given it a second chance! I think I'll enjoy this truck for the next few days. Untitled by HCFXFour, on Flickr Untitled by HCFXFour, on Flickr Untitled by HCFXFour, on Flickr
Isn't your DD a fiesta? Why did you have to rent a truck if you have another car to drive? Just curious.

Plus, insurance pays for it.
