If it's sound, HP and torque you want, get the 6.2 V8. Oh, and terrible MPG's.

Retired and loving it!
Well, a custom chip for your radio system has to be a lot cheaper than a full cat back system. You could even "tune it" to be loud under half to full throttle, and completely quiet at cruising speed. Nice and loud in town (well, at least to your ears), and no drone on the highway. Best of both worlds!!!!

I thought I read they were only doing this on the 2.7 liter ecoboost.
BMW did this on their previous generation E60 M5. The turbocharged V10 was barely audible in the cabin without it. As far as I know, that's the only car they did it in.

No, BMW put the ASD system int their model 3 series, as well as the 2 series. They even turn up the 'noise' (er uh sound) if you put the vehicle in sport or sport+ mode. I love my quiet truck (no fakey engine sound). Makes it much better to listen to music in

Why are people blaming Ford for this?
They are giving the people what they want!
When the Eco first came out there were and still are diehard V8 sound aficionados that wouldn't buy an Eco just because of he sound alone. Is this ignorant? Yes! But they cater to these ignorant people that think sound = performance and now add it artificially so Joe Rocket now feels the performance along with the "sound" of performance!
No it can't be disabled and it's pissing people in 15's off with aftermarket systems because it's being amplified!
