My iphone 4 now starts playing via Bluetooth Audio in speaker setting. I'll jump in my truck and all of a sudden the iphone is playing a song through it's speakers. Annoying!!!! What the heck! After the software update it worked great with Sync. But lately it's been doing old stuff...playing will not in bluetooth/usb mode, sound issues, and now random music from iphone speakers...

SYNC with the iPhone is proving to be very annoying. I've resorted to just turning off bluetooth on my phone. Mine does all kinds of weird things. All I want to do is connect the iPhone via USB and play music, but also be able to make/receive calls via bluetooth. It doesn't seem to like to do both however.

I often will startup the truck and it will start playing over Bluetooth. But, if bluetooth is turned off, it will try playing via USB but no sound comes out of the speakers. Plus it's usually "stuck" on one song. If I hit next/previous, it just plays the same song again.

Grrrr...

this is the only minor problem that i have

each time i plug the iphone in, i have to go into the ipod app and select audio source to "dock connector" instead of "sync"

sync is referring to the bluetooth connection that is also established for phone functionality

i'm listening to music via usb, and when i get a call, the system handles it perfectly and then my usb music resumes when the call is finished

maybe i just got lucky, but 95% of my problems have vanished since the new update

my bluetooth doesn't auto-start anymore, but i'm not sure why mine is different than the majority of you

Thanks for that info Wes. I'm going to play around with the settings again this weekend and see if I can figure it out.

you may need to press aux again until it says media stream or bluetooth stream or something like that

the usb streaming is better IMO bc you get artist/track info all while charging your phone

only problem is i havent figured out how to play pandora/internet radio through usb, have to switch back to bluetooth for this

I have found the sync connection gets quirky anytime an iPhone update is available, hard time connecting, not automatically connecting, etc...but the iPhone updates always fix it, I'm pretty sure that if you turn off the truck while in bluetooth mode, it is supposed to start back up automatically when you turn it back on though...

You get far better results keeping your iphone in your pocket and having a separate ipod connected via USB that you have synced to the same itunes library. Pull it out of your car once in a while and sync it if you've bought new music. If you play music over bluetooth you can't control the music through voice commands which is one of the main features of Sync. Ipods are cheap.

It works great for me when I plug in the iPhone via the USB. Once you disconnect, it defaults back to Bluetooth->iPhone. So I just set the SELECT SOURCE to Line In and it leaves the iPhone alone. Kind of a pain but that's better than just giving up on the system.

I've been having the bluetooth auto-starting the ipod on my iphone 4 too and it really pisses me off. I am not liking the sync system in general and would dearly love to have it totally removed. If they don't work the bugs out or kill it altogether, I won't buy another vehicle with it.
