that's what I was thinking. I wanted the Ram Mount, but to mount in that cubbie. Have any diy instructions for the apparatus that goes into the cubbie?

Default DIY ish

I watched the YouTube video from lock pick to figure out how to get the dash apart. Then I took the measurements off the cubbie hole and fabbed up a bracket to mount in the bottom. I drilled a hole in the back on the bottom of the cubbie to run a bolt through.

I did something similar as FXfourXfour, and very less permanent. A block of wood cut to the interior dims of the cubby, then wrapped in leather. I then used a swivel from an old light assembly, and fabricated my own slide in holder. It slides in & out of the cubby easily, but when pushed in, stays in just by friction.

Granted, this is Nexus tablet and not an iPad.

Nice job FXfour. That's what I want to do with some of these extra Ram Mount parts I have.
