Yep. After I first paired them, sync told me it couldn't receive texts using that phone. I followed this procedure and it worked fine.

Did you perform a clean pair after updating your iOS? That's when you remove SYNC from your phone and your phone from SYNC. From there, perform a reboot on your phone and perform a master reset while you wait for your phone to boot up. Then go through the regular pairing steps, making sure all permissions are granted and "show notifications" is turned on for SYNC through the iPhones Bluetooth menu. Let me know how it's performing after.

I had iOS 8 on both my iPhone 5 and 6. In fact, I had iOS 8 about 2 weeks before official release.

All I had to do was deleting information about the sync from both the truck and the phone, and then repairing. Works like a champ.

A solution.
Had to find this on my own, cause Apple had no clue and all the other answers were BS.

OKAY NOW, go to General in your iPhone SETTINGS, then to reset, hit reset ALL SETTINGS, it will not delete anything, but you will have to reset some of your personalizations, after 3 days of frustration this is what worked.

This is not just a Ford problem. Apple told me to call my auto manufacturer. BS.

Yes, I did a clean pair. In fact, I reset the sync system to factory default and tried pairing with my brand new iPhone 6+. There were no bluetooth profiles on the phone at all. I was able to pair it and I can play audio now, but phone calls still do not work. This is super frustrating to me. Any additional insight would be appreciated.

Had similar issues when I updated my iPhone 5 to ios8, phone calls would not connect properly through Bluetooth (the call would hang up or just continue on the phone and not through Sync). Tried pretty much everything mentioned here and I ended up downgrading the iOS back to 7.1.2.
