"Intelligent" Oil Life Monitors Save you Money

I change mine usually around 4-5,000 or 6 months whichever comes first and I let the dealer do it for now as it is still under warranty and I have a faint knock that comes and goes and is documented. I called today to see if they will do a bore scope for me, waiting on a return call from shop foreman.

Hi, when my oil turns black, or close to it, it means it is dirty and contaminated. In my books, dirty oil is Liquid Sandpaper.
As for colors, there is clear, slightly yellow, purple, and greenish colored oils; In this case, no, color doesn't make a difference to me.
My oil wasn't black when installed. I don't like black oil.

Nah, that was back when you could get a raptor with the V-8. But yeah, there's another video somewhere of them driving it off the trailer and into their shop. I don't remember if the shocks and struts even died. Tires were toast, airbags, and I'm sure some other stuff, but they fixed it. Lol. That's from "Rednecks with Paychecks"

I am actually trying to warn people and use this thread to document my issues over time, potentially saving them thousands in repair. If you want to hang out $3-$8K on an IOLM that's your choice.
The dealership flat told me that it should never be used as a reference for oil life.
