FOUR people have told you they are a waste of money for the 09-10 5.4L 3V engines.

Why ask the question if you don't want a real, fact based answer?

Tell you what. You show me the dyno sheets and manufacturer guaranteed MPG increases and I'll help you pick the correct A/M intake.

Fair enough?

Because they think like you do. They see a cool advertisement on TV or in a mag and think "wow, it must be great, look at all the cool pictures!" and go buy one. Then someone sees that guy has one and thinks "wow, it must be great, that guy has one!" then they buy one and the cycle continues. If you plan on or already have a high performance exhaust and tuner then you may be able to get some benifit from an intake IF you have tunes made specifically for your truck and what you have done for it by runing multiple dyno tests to get it tuned right. But that means $$$.

Pay for the dyno and you have yourself a deal.

And as for you intake being made personal for ur engine and body (which has nothing to do with the intake) I am more than sure they make a intake that perfectly goes along with my 5.4l triton.

People change things because they want too, if you want too go right ahead. But when the stock is already a CAI what is aftermarket going to do? Too many people are caught up in this fad brought on by the Fast and The Furious. A car engine does not equal a truck never mind the factory being a great design, ie already CAI. CAI's are what made the fad more or less because years ago factory intakes were in the engine compartment.

You're almost funny. Close, but not quite.

Why should I pay for your dyno runs? You're the one sold on A/M intakes. Hell, since it appears you have money to **** away, buy 10 different A/M intakes and dyno them yourself.

Here, I'll rephrase so there's no confusion.

Show me the A/M MANUFACTURER dyno sheets (you know - the ones that prove the hp gains) and A/M manufacturer guaranteed MPG increases and I'll help you pick the correct A/M intake.
It's clear your mind is made up and all you're trying to do is justify your eye candy purchase.

I'm done with this thread. In case you change your mind, my offer stands when you send me a PM with links to the A/M MANUFACTURER dyno sheets and A/M manufacturer guaranteed MPG increases.

Have a nice day!

That is still pissing up a rope my friend. A tuner, exhaust and intake isn't going to have a custom tune bassed on dyno runs to be able to show a measurable difference over stock. If it was that simple that is what all my Lightning buddies would be doing.

Like I said do it because you want too and because you like the sound. If you are chasing performance you are in the wrong platform, trade it in and get a lighning.

Oh..and also with these filters you have to wash them when they get dirty...you think cool...then i dont have to buy a new one. Ok, but you have to oil it. Not enough oil on the filter...it lets dirt through. Too much oil and you start coating sensors!! sounds like its really worth 1hp

A CAI and tune will give you 20RWHP if done right, I used VMP and gained about that using the 93octane tune. 87 octane you dont get much if any but you will get greatly increased throttle response. I just have a tune and I got a very much noticable increase in HP across the board. Now to the stock intake being as good as a aftermarked CAI may attribute to why I felt and saw good results from my tune. I say keep the stock intake but get a tune. Remember NO tune alone will keep you happy forever, if you want REAL power gains you will need to get a blower or build the engine. Anything other than that you will get used to in a matter of weeks. Also a lightning is a whole different animal and with a tune alone you can get 50 extra HP that is why the Shelby SS is 550 while the SVT is only 500 a different tune, Simply placing a new pully on the lightning will give you alot more power.

What I find funny is people that search for posts about CAI just to bash them.... Where are your facts? are you just another person regurgitating stuff you read read on forums? or do you in fact have... FACTS? I am neutral in the CAI thing. I have used them with both positive and negative results. Show me facts discounting them and I will take your side... if not then might a recommend a box of crayons and a corner
