Which Intake is Better?
One aftermarket intakes are always better than stock. Plus I dont see the stock intake increasing my mpg or horsepower. So I refuse to believe the stock intake is better. What is you opinion on ur your stock intake?
I see you have fallen prey to the A/M intake marketing machine. In your defense, I must admit they are good at advertising their products.
Let's see those dyno sheets (pay real close attention to the hp numbers - what RPM?) and manufacturer guaranteed MPG increases.
My stock intake was specifically designed for my engine and body configuration.

Stock is already a cold air intake and will be a better overall intake for the average joe. now if you are doing some motor work or are racing it (really high RPMs) then POSSIBLY an aftermarket intake would be benificial. Otherwise it's just a waste of money.

Have to agree on these trucks unless you are going to really modify the engine, blower, pulleys, ignition, etc. the stock intake is all you need. The only reason short of that is to modify the sound of the truck. And FWIW I have aftermarket intake on my car.
I dont dont see ur defense. If that were true why would people be taking off there orignal and switching it with aftermarket. And as for you intake being made personal for ur engine and body (which has nothing to do with the intake) I am more than sure they make a intake that perfectly goes along with my 5.4l triton.
Well , my opinion on aftermarket intakes are....you are taking a chance! And what do i base my opinion on? I race quads, and K&N make filters for these quads using the same material they do for cars and trucks. The K&N material does let more air through...but it also lets more dirt through. This dirt in the piston chamber can be devastating!! For the 1 or 2 hp you gain, its not worth it. As others have said, the 09-10 air intake is better then the 08's and below, so save your money and engine..stay stock.
