Default Installing Valentine-1 radar detector-pictures

I bought the "Blendmount" bracket and "invisicord" for my Valentine-1 radar detector and installed it in my 2010 Lariat today. The bracket is an aluminum mount that attaches to the rear view mirror stem and holds the V-1 in place right below the rear view mirror. The invisicord allow you to plug the V-1 into the rear of the mirror as long as you have an autodimming mirror. The whole installation was very easy and it was nice not to have to pull down the headliner and play the which wire to tap guessing game that I have done on multiple other cars. It's the easiest install I've done for a radar detector and it's an extremely solid and secure mount of the highest quality. My only complaints is the price, both the blendmount and the invisicord are about double what they should actually cost. They have mounting solutions for all the popular radar detectors.

A couple pictures...

that's really nice and clean!

shoot, I don't think I have the auto dimming mirror... does it come with the convenience package on XLT's? lol I've never bothered to look, but now that I think about it, I've never had the want to dim my mirror either maybe I do have the auto dimming mirror; I'll have to look for that wire tomorrow when I hop in the truck

If you have a cable running out the back of the rear view mirror, you've got power to the mirror and that's all you need.

Looks good eye.surgeon. I have an Escort Passport 9500ix mounted using the Blendmount in my 2010 Lariat as well. The detection range is much, much better than when I used to have it mounted lower on the windshield using the flimsy suction cups. The Blendmount looks cleaner and keeps it more out of sight to both thieves and cops. It is expensive but it is also money well spent.

That looks just like mine with the blendmount and V1. Love the blendmount and dislike the V1. My V1 broke in less than 6 months. Free repair. $35 bucks to ship it back to them. No customer service. Difficult to deal with. Won't answer questions. When my V1 breaks again, I'm buying Escort. I don't know if they are any better, but they can't be worse.

looks good! It took me an hour poking my fingers with a test light tring to find a wire under the dash that came on and off with the key, then spent another hour making an L-shaped bracket that I 3M taped to the back of my mirror to hold my V1 on top of my mirror. Then the week after I saw the add for the blend mount and bought one with the invisicord for my dads new super duty and his V1, same results nice looks, great functionality, But I also agree the price is crazy but we are buying them so...

I cannot believe this, I have never heard of anyone that wasn't blown away by a V1. I even gave my dad $200 for his old V1 that was like 12 years old for my camaro so I didnt have to take the one out of my truck every time I took the car out. It is now close to 14 years old and still blows my mind with how good it works. I would still rather have it then any new escort or anything else. Sorry to hear you had trouble and it cost you another $35 bucks but I can tell you that I would probably pay $800 for a V1 if I lost my 2, cause it saves me that every year I use it. I LOVE MY V1

+1 on the V-1, I've had mine for going on 9 years and it looks and works perfectly. It's been in 5 different cars. I've updated the software a couple times, they still make them exactly the same because they just WORK and they last forever, not like other companies that come out with "new" models every 6 months. The direction arrows are awesome.

No power cords here.

I like the lack of cords in the escort solo above but the performance always lags the powered models in testing. Convenient though.
