Default Installing LightForce driving Lights...Need help!

Well I installed my Smittybuilt Street Bar today and picked up a pair of Lightforce Striker 170's and am getting ready to install em. Heres my question, when I installed these on my 07 Tundra, I simply tapped into the High beam wire at the rear of the head lamp bulb connector, to pick up the high beam signal, as opposed to scrwing with the headlight switch. Will this work the same way on my F-150? Is there anything that would pose a problem with doing this? Would it be easier to tap into the multifunction switch ,and if so can someone tip me on some wire colors. Thanks.

Will have pics up tomorrow of new wheels, new tires, light bar and lights, hood deflector, and weathertech mud flaps! Love getting a new truck!!!!!

Well never tried what you suggested so can't offer any advice for you. I was actually curious about your Smittybilt lightbar.

I just got mine and was disappointed to see the mounting tabs are in front of the lightbar, not tucked behind it like most lightbars I have used in the past. The frustrating part is I had ordered a Smittybilt lightbar for my 09 Ram and it had the same issue, so I called Top Gun Customz that I purchased from to make sure the mounting tabs were on the inside of the bar for the new Fords (like the Smittybilt pictures indicate), not on the outside that places the lights way out in front of the bar; they assured me that they were not on the outside so I purchased the Smittybilt again. Wrong! Are yours that way too?

Also, mine has some identification letters sloppily welded onto the underside of the mounting tabs so the surface is not flush for each tab. I have to grind down the letters so I can get a good flat surface to tighten the lights against. Do you have this issue?

If not, I probably should return the dang thing but shipping and restocking probably be half as much as I already paid. Smittybilt used to make good quality products so can't believe they sell this junk (or maybe it's just me). I emailed and called (could only get voicemail) Top Gun Customz two days ago and still waiting for a response. Anyway, curious on how your new lightbar turned out. Looking forward to those pics!

Mine also has the light tabs on the outside front of the bar. My tabs are flat and the lights went on flush as can be.

Okay, thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll have to grind my tabs down to make flush. Glad yours worked out okay.
