Installing amp.

Where have yal installed your amps for your subs etc. Im thinking about putting mine under the passenger seat (it fits!). Its just a kicker ZX750. And on hooking the amp up my brother was talking about the wire you have to hook up to the fuse box so the amp knows when to turn on/off. Can anyone tell me how they did this or pictures? I never even noticed the amps had this! Thanks

You need to tap into a switched power wire for the amp remote turn-on lead. I was already mucking around behind the HU so I picked one out of the harness and just ran the wire back to the backseat where the amp is. I can't remember what color it is though, maybe blue?

Did you just use normal speaker wire for the remote turn on?

It doesn't have to be anything special or thick gauge - most amp wiring kits come with like a 18 ga. wire.

Sorry for the poor pic, but I built an "amp shelf" between my sub and a storage bin under the rear seats.

Is there a "amp install" post anywhere? esp for 09+? I did a search and couldnt come up with anything

I think it's fuse #37 that you tap into for the remote lead on your amp. It's definitely in a thread in the audio section. Do a search about in that section and it should pop up.
You'll also need a fuse tap which is about $5-$10.

Factory head unit or not, if it is factory i think you will have to find a remote turn on from somewhere. But if it aftermarket it should a blue wire or blue with white wire and that is your remote turn on.
