Default Installed piaa h13 9008 headlight bulbs on 2011 fx4. Comparison pics.

So I searched and searched again for comparison photos of the PIAAs against the stock bulb. After only hearing people say how good they are without seeing any actual evidence, I decided to take the chance on a set while they were on sale.

I haven't had a chance to drive with them or even get them out into the darkness yet but will later tonight.

I live in BC, Canada and it is often a snowy/rainy mess at night and I soon realized that the stock lights are not up to snuff. I was hoping that the PIAAs would help out extensively so I wouldn't need to get driving lights.

At first look in my garage, these don't look much better than stock. And for surely not worth the $100 price tag. I will see forsure tonight though as I have one piaa and one stock still installed.

Here are the pics I have so far. All are low beams.

First 2 are stock

Second 2 are stock on drivers and PIAAs in the passenger side.

I have to note though, I really love the color! Not worth it for just the color so I hope the light output is better too.

If this thread sparks anyone else's urge to post comparison pictures, please don't hesitate as I only have my iPhone for pics.

Regards,

Here are the night pics. Sorry that they suck so bad, it's hard to find dark areas in the city.

iPhone sucks but hopefully you can get an idea.

I agree. I think they look much more appealing looking AT the lights. It's hard to tell in the pics any difference in output. The PIAAs do look a bit brighter. Any input on whether they're noticeably brighter? Did you leave the fogs stock? Also, do you have a link to what you bought?

I swapped out the stock headlight and fog bulbs on my old 4runner with PIAAs and was impressed with the difference. I had tried silverstars and was marginally impressed with the output and very very UNimpressed with the longevity of the bulbs. Was hoping to swap my truck's head/fog bulbs over to PIAAs to match my 4 PIAA 520s on my lightbar eventually.

Thanks for the pics!

I bought them at lordco auto here in BC, but you can get them almost anwhere, they are called, PIAA Ultra Whites h13/9008.

After driving around for a bit longer, I do really like the color of the lights and I think they make the truck look a lot better. Ill be heading inland (I live on an island) in a couple days and I will get a chance to drive some pitch black highway driving, so Ill post some more info soon.

They appear brighter and a tighter beam if that's possible. I have the Phillips Xtremes and they work pretty well but may go to the PIAAs if I can find them on sell.

If you want the best lighting possible, look me up. I happen to be in Victoria as well. My retrofits will blow away pretty much any high end luxury car out there....and NOT blind oncoming traffic. Expensive, but worth it.

I like the color better, as for brighter I'd say they aren't much brighter. They do look better though.
