Yes you can get an EcoBoost plate mount that offsets the plate to the driver's side like shown in the original post.

Will these inserts fit in that gap on a regular, non-EB F150? I have the plate in front of that gap but would look at moving it over.

Yes they will. they use the holes from the center mount licence plate

Took me 5 minutes, but thats because I had to remove the old one! And had trouble finding my razor knife to open the box
