I really like the tip for using a clear piece of plastic or vinyl to make a template. May start with cardboard than go to vinyl. I bought the black rubber than winter hit. Thankfully I have everything sprayed with fluidfilm.

I finished this mod today. I used some body molding screws I picked up at advance auto. The rubber is from grainger. I forget who posted that link earlier in the thread. Looking forward to seeing how clean the engine stays know that I have these installed.

That's a very nice, clean, install. You used thinner material than most have used on here. After using it, do you think it is thick enough? Would you go with that 3/32" again if doing it over?

Thanks! No regrets using the 3/32" material. I think this is still thicker than the OEM apron used on the Ecoboost models. It's a bit easier to cut and forms nicely around the coil mount.

Where can I buy some of this stuff in Canada? I just looked in my engine bay yesterday and I can't believe how dirty it is, the bolts on the valve cover are all rusty and my exhaust manifolds have rust so bad that its already has rust chips coming off. I am going to take it to the dealer to see if they will warranty it since my warranty will run out in 2 months. I only have 34000 kms on this thing. It just pisses me off how I try to keep a clean truck yet Ford couldn't put a apron in there like every other car I have own previously to keep the crud out!

Looking at other brands of trucks, they all seem to have wheel well liners that are shaped properly from the factory.

The fact Ford puts a weak *** apron....on Ecoboosts only is a mystery.

Wonder what the 2015s look like.

As far as materials, you can probably get anyway with any type of rubber sheet that is flexible enough to cut and attach to the plastic wheel well. Check your hardware stores in Canada. Hell, I used a mat designed for stairs and cut it up.

Here a finished product of mine. Went with a 1/16th reinforced with nylon which makes it more durable and flexible at the same time

So does the 3.5 Eco have better or more covered liners that the 5.0 engines?
