Did all that before installing since both lines have check valves. I just verified there correct and working.

Remove the UPR set-up. See if your mileage returns. If not it may be your MAP cleaning is the issue. Check the connections etc.

Lol 1 MPG can change just due to temps or different fuel.

You never stated where or how the mileage was calculated. Is that looking at the truck's own calculation or is it based on actual hand calculations and over how many miles? Ford's calc's are an algorithm that takes many assumptions into consideration. There is no flowmeter on the truck.

I always found it was better to fill up full at the same pump then drive as long as possible on that tank of fuel before filling back up at the same pump to the same number of shut-off clicks. Then calculate your mileage. The longer the run, the better the calculation. Fuel quality, time of year, ambient conditions, driving style, how much you fill the tank all effect mileage.

You want to see some real fanatics about mileage just look up hyper-mileing!

Default Resolution?

I have a 2013 F-150 limited 3.5 Ecoboost and just installed the UPR mega catch can with low profile CSS. I also noticed an immediate 2 mpg decrease both from what the truck shows and my own tracking. I've been getting gas from the same pump for over a year now so I don't think gas is the issue.
~17.5 before and now ~15.4.

Was there any resolution on this thread? Did anything fix the problem?

I have the braided hoses and the performance valves from stage 3 motors.

The can IS collecting stuff...see pic from 1 week of driving...not sure what the different things are...assume some water from condensation and oil, but it has a gas smell to it. I don't think there should be gas in there...if so I might have a bigger problem here. Temps are around mid-30-40s and it's been that way since before I installed the catch can.

Any help would be appreciated. I don't know much about newer engines.

This is going to catch some major hate, but if you're seeing negative affects from catch-can, I'd just remove it. I have three eco's. One with 140k miles, one with 120k miles, and a little Focus ST with 50k miles. I couldn't tell you which one is newer by the way the engine runs across the three, and my oil analysis always comes back great, and I've never had any of this timing-chain stretch stuff, and I've been tuned nearly the whole time.

Call me lucky but 3x eco's, two with some good miles on the odometer, and no catch can.

* disclaimer * - I keep my oil changed.

I only installed it because my brother-in-law paid some serious $$$ to have the intake cleaned after the coking issue people talk about on here happened to his truck...and some of the reports that it increases MPG a little. I can very quickly switch back to the stock setup and see what happens but part of me just wants to understand what's going on with this.

Thanks though

I hear you. And honestly, if I already had one in possession, I'd probably want it installed too.

If you don't mind me asking, do you know approx how much the intake cleaning was?

He was quoted $2800 from a Ford dealer but ended up paying $1200 for a local mechanic in TX to do it. His truck is back to running normal now with no issues...he had 60k miles and mine just tripped 50k.

However, he drives in the turbo...a lot
