It's really not that bad but I am very critical when it comes to sound. Question to all that have installed the KTP-445u. Do you notice a slight hiss at low volumes? Just curious to see if I'm wasting my time trying to completely remove it. It is unnoticeable after you turn it up.
Try turning the gains down on the loc a slight bit or on the amp a slight bit. You can also try a ground loop isolator but check your grounds and if possible try a different one. I don't know how you mounted the amp, but screwing it into metal or against metal can also cause a hiss in some cases.

I did set the gains down to 25%. I think it is metal or power cable interference. I have it in my glove box right now and had to pass through some metal brackets to get it there. First thing I'm going to try is moving it to a different location.

Absolutely. The more I listen to it, the more impressive it sounds. Great upgrade.

I couldn't afford those but bought the Infinity REF-8602cfx speakers. Since Crutchfield had them on sale for $103.99/PR with free wire connections normally $129.99/PR with no freebies.
I was gona go with the type R's but after talking with a owner of a local audio shop, he said that I wouldn't get the full potential out of the type R's unless I went with a bigger amp. That's why I went with the type S's and they are awesome!! I also just ordered a 8" kicker hideaway sub to go under the back seat!

I'm not selling it, I bought it. My truck is getting worked on at the dealership right now. As soon as I get it back, I will install it.

Nayriles, I have a 2009 XLT with SYNC. All I need to hook this amp up is the amp and two harnesses? Anything else I need to purchase along with it? Also, how hard is it to remove the dash to get behind the head unit?
