Not sure why you would use spacers and bilsteins....anyways, I have a 2 inch HBS spacer kit and it only makes noise when I hit a speed bump at speed. Idk, I installed myself and tightened everything for sure. Oh well.

Mine makes no noises what so ever at 2.25 setting. The only time I get sound is if I hit a speed bump at speed and that is because the spring is preloaded but its not a mechanical metal on metal clunk.

Update: Ford dealer mechanic did not tighten the middle bolts on top of the struts. They were a quarter inch loose. They must have tightened everything in the air and when the truck was dropped they loosened.

Thanks for the great advice on checking them.

I have heard of others doing the spacers and 5100's. The possible advantage to this is you get the upgraded Bilsteins without the added preload if you raise them to a higher setting. You still get the level without the preload and a better shock. Most do either or but this is an interesting option.

Truck almost rides as good as stock. I'm glad I found the problem as this site led me right to it.
