Default injectors - replace or clean?

Wife has a 2011 F150 3.5 EcoBoost. The engine runs rough. Changed spark plugs. Dealer wants to sell an injector clean service for several hundred dollars. seems like it would cost about the same to just replace the injectors. What do you think?

Should we replace or clean the injectors? Truck has 175,000 miles.

Is replacing the injectors a job I can do at home?

What plugs did you install and what did you gap them at?

Have you changed out the coil packs? Cleaned all sensors?

I've been out of town for five months and the wife took the truck to the dealer. They replace the coil packs about a year ago. I'm not sure what sensors to clean. Please do tell. The dealer is who replace the spark plugs.

I've had problems with this dealer in Lockhart, Texas. Two visits ago they told the wife she needed a new transmission that this one was leaking badly. So, I went to the dealer to pick up the truck and asked how low the fluid was. "We didn't check it." So, you say the fluid is leaking out and you didn't even check to see how low it was? Put it back on the rack and check. The truck comes back to the parking lot and they come and tell me it was a quart low. Did you put more in? Um, no. Back on the rack to put in a quart of fluid. I drove it home and kept an eye on the fluid. I added a half quart a month later. Back to the dealer for the rough running and I asked them to check the transmission leak. "No leak" they say. But it need a coolant reservoir replaced and it needs injectors cleaned.

So, they are not too be trusted. I will be home for the first time in about two weeks and will take care of the truck myself. I just want your opinion on what to do about the injectors. And thank you for the "clean the sensors" suggestion. Just tell me what sensors to check and I will. I'd rather take it somewhere but have no place I trust so I'll try to figure it out and do it myself.

I would pull the plugs and gap them at .030 Also clean the sensor just past the air filter. You can also clean the throttle body. All can be easily done by yourself.

Also, find a better dealership or private mechanic.

Default Injectors

At 175k your injectors have flowed a lot of fuel.-

A lot of owners and mechanics consider additives a waste of time ever and money, but adding a couple of bottles of an aggressive cleaner like Berryman to a full tank every month or so will keep them whistle clean.-

If you don't have the 36 gal tank, make it one bottle.-

And find a better mechanic🤔

@ that mileage I'd replace them, they have moving parts in them that wear out as well as an electric solenoid that gets weak over time.

Replacement sounds like a reasonable plan. I'll start looking on Amazon and everywhere else. Do you have any recommendations where to get good injectors - are some better than others?

I've only used what the dealer uses.
