Default Infinity Kappa Component Install

I installed Infinity Kappa Component speakers in my front doors today. I have a 2010 F150 SuperCrew. After completing both doors I noticed that the windows went up and down but seemed to lag at about 3/4 down. I removed the door panels and had the same result. I then loosened the speaker bolts and pulled the speakers out of the door about 5/16 of an inch and tried the windows again, this time there was no lag or hanging up feeling. I spaced them out from the door and tightened everything up. All is good. I cannot believe that this has not been mentioned before, I did read a lot of install threads. The speakers sound good, I will do the rears tomorrow. I think that an amplifier will be needed to bring these to life. ANY input or suggestions on a 4 channel amp? Thanks.

Kappa's are outstanding speakers, did you have tweeter pods already?

Do they sound alot better?

They sound very good but I need an AMP for more power. I mounted the tweeter in each door about 6" beside the 6X8. They are behind the speaker grilles and I still hear the highs from their position. I was gonna mount them up high but decided against that. Looking at an Alpine AMP.

You will need to amplifiy those speakers and you will be amazed. Without an amp you could damage those speakers, not enough power is just as bad as too much power.

I watched my speakers installed and he rolled all four windows down during the install. Your problem may have been why he rolled the windows down for the install...

I placed them down but did not notice them contacting, its only a slight contact and only for a split second but it was noticeabe enough to take them out and shim. I guess I will be buying an amplifier this weekend. Thanks.

Did you place actual speaker spacers? Kappa is an amazing series, I have been using Infinity products for over 15 years and even did a competition show car with them, very impressive!

I used the appropriate thickness of washers.

Those are some nice amps but out of my price range at the present time.
