Default Improving headlights

Have 2013 XLT with the factory halogen headlights. Still have the OEM halogen bulbs but want to improve nighttime visibility. Not necessarily interested in the aftermarket HID's, bi-xenon, or LED conversions.

Just want to know suggestions for halogen bulb replacements over the stock OEM units.

Additionally I'm led to believe that I can have the vehicle "coded" by dealer to turn on daytime running lights. Anyone know if this is possible.

Thanks much in advance for any input.

I have Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs. Found best price on eBay. Think it helped some.
Believe Forscan can enable DRLs. Check out that thread.

I had sylvania silver star pxe. It was definitely an improvement but I would shop around for the cheapest price. It wasn't worth the 60 dollars to buy them over the counter. I did both headlights and fog lights and after a while I switched to conversion led's and will never go back. And no they don't blind anyone on the road

Agreed on the LED's. We have a '15 BMW 5 Series with the factory Adaptive LED option. The amount of light they throw and the distance has to be seen to be believed.

Just not looking to spend that kind of money on the conversion if I can get even a moderate improvement by a simple light bulb swap. Always believed in the philosophy of "try the cheapest fix first."

Thanks for your input and if you're using your truck for consistent night driving you've likely taken the proper route.

Hey Summers...thanks for the input. However, when I clicked on the link attatched to your post I'm told that the Phillips 9008 H13 Crystal Vision Ultra is NOT compatible with the Ford F150 XLT (2013).

Do you have halogen bulbs now? If so, you have 9008/H13 bulbs. Please dont believe what you read on ebays fitment charts. They are rubish.

For your peace of mind (for the record, this is for fitment only, I will not buy Sylvania bulbs, ever)

They get mixed reviews in the 09-14 halogen reflector housings.
