Default I'm undecided

I have the ford tubular chrome running boards. I like the look of them but hate the hollow open bottom of these boards. They fill up with snow, ice and gravel. I am thinking about ditching them. Anyone else do this yet? Any regrets if you did? Pics? Thanks in advance!

I'm in the same boat. There are quite a few different running board options out there. I wouldn't mind the raptor running boards. They look tough and no chrome to worry about.

I've been thinking about picking up a set of n-fab step bars and ditching my tube steps as well. Just haven't gotten around to it, especially with this weather.

i too don't like the way the open bottom fills with the snow/ice....breaks loose and then you hear the rattles/banging till it breaks off..

I ditched mine as the chrome was extremely pitted. I'd love to find a set of Raptor running boards but we'll see if I can ever find a set that the owner doesn't think is worth their weight in gold. AMP steps would be nice too.

And after King shocks that lifted the front level to give you an idea for if you have a level:

I know what you mean about all of the winter crud inside the running boards. You can see it all on the garage floor when you park in the garage and the stuff thaws. It really does create a mess....I wonder what the reason was for Ford to leave it open like that...

I plow with my truck. It is amazing how many cracks and crevices snow packs into and rattles. Even driving in snow, the rear hitch and bumper get packed. Also the drivers side along the outside do the frame where the cables run is a bad spot. A lot of extra weight rides on these trucks in snowy climates.

Do it, especially if you're 6' or over.
