An email is not a contract. Dont' get your panties in a bunch. Tell them to take it or leave it, if they take it fine, if not walk away and go elsewhere or quit complaining.
Getting all upset does nothing productive. This is business and money talks, BS walks.

0.9% is for suckers!
Either way, $51,xxx MSRP will yield a $38k price before tax in my area, tax here is 6.25%, so with no trade on 38k that's $2375 in tax. Now it's $40,375. Some fees etc.
So if they accidentally deducted an extra $4,000 somewhere (what rebate is $4000 in ur area?) you weren't getting a deal anyway. Just use the Internet machine and buy from another dealer. Screw em.

Shambling Mockery of Man
Wow. OK, yeah, that definitely qualifies as "highly suspect".
However.
I would not go scorched-earth on these people. Your time and efforts are worth more than that - don't waste them. Chalk it up to a learning experience and be thankful you had not signed for anything - then you be trapped in business relationship with these people. Move on to another dealer and tell them upfront ( but politely) that you have certain expectations of honestly from them and that, if they can't meet those expectations, you are not afraid to walk. You have done it before.

I'm quick to get angry too, but sometimes you gotta walk it off for a little while and take another look at the situation. Whether or not she actually made a mistake doesn't really matter, it really is not going to change much. I agree with those that say to go there and see what they can do, if you seem reasonable, they might stair step back down to that price. Just don't tell them to go F themselves, it is just a quick way to end the negotiation and walk out even more pissed. If isn't the right price, just tell them the only reason you were interested in that caliber of a truck was because you thought you were get a comfortable price on it.
I walked out three times on my salesman... I simply told him the price was out of my league and I just couldn't do it. Eventually the GM stepped in and asked me what it would take to go home with the new truck. I told him I couldn't let my trade in go for so little and I couldn't touch the price of the new truck, it just wasnt smart for me to go through with it. He said he understood and asked for me to take the truck home while he called some wholesale places on buying my old truck. He called me back later and told me that he could give me 2k over what I was hoping to get out of it and that he would shave another two off the price of the new truck. The end state was better than what I was hoping for....
I'm just saying that it doesn't hurt to wait it out and see what they do, if all else fails... Call another place.
-keep calm and chive on!!!

She told me two different times, in two different emails that the out the door price was $42,760. If thats a mistake, then she needs to be fired. Sorry, but i run a couple of different business and I honor mistakes. Ive lost money and given products away for mistakes that werent even made by me.
The GM will be there tomorrow. Ill talk to him and give him the chance to make it right. After that, its game on. Ill run an add in his local paper every week for a year. I also own a web design business, so I think a nice website explaining the situation they created should educate other potential buyers of their tactics.

Sorry but thats a D-bag move right there! Its not like they ruined your life! That mentality is whats ruining this country!

Im the one sitting here with the money to buy the truck. If your going to be a shady *** business, then you should have to be the one that loses out when your shadyness catches up to you.

To the point. If they were to add the missed $4K that's not a good deal. What sucks is when your all wired up and really ready to get your new truck some BS like this happens. Being told to relax and all that crap ......yeah right. I'm sure all you Dr. Phils would've really been calm and cool if it would've happened to you. You've got your truck already so if the shoe was on the other foot you'd be pissed too!!

Well I dont deal over email! I do my dealings in person so this cant happen! And if it does I say fix it or I am walking. Simple as that! Im sorry but Yea it would suck but go to another dealer explain what happened and maybe they can work something out. Ford dealers are a dime a dozen!

Either you are a care salesman, used to be one, or you don't run your own business.
And I was raised in a household where you word means something. This lady knew what she was doing. She confirmed the price with me TWICE. That's not a mistake.
