Default I'm not old enough for a canopy

Hey Gang,

I'm torn... I'm really considering the idea of getting a Canopy... So many pros for my lifestyle but it's the "I'm not old enough to have a canopy yet" I'm trying to deal with lol.

So here's another factor that may sway me one way or another...

If I put a canopy on my truck, do you think it would help to reduce drag while towing my holiday trailer?... Which in turn may help with fuel economy?

I'm looking at an ARE Z Series.

I've got a tri fold Bakflip... Just like the convenience of the canopy with the dog, camping, etc but that's a great point I didn't consider!

The ARE canopies are very high quality. I had one on my last truck, and loved it.
As to your question on the wind resistance and helping with the mpg --- I did notice that the canopy kept the bugs off the center 1/3 of the front of the TT, but I did not notice any positive effect on the mpg....if there was one, the weight of the canopy likely cancelled it out....

What does being old and having a topper have to do with each other ?

Toppers are nice to keep tools dry and safe, nice to haul the dogs in the bed without them getting on the seats, many good reasons to have one and being old has nothing to do with it.
Seen someone say just get a suv but the topper will pop right off easy if you need to use the bed in a different manor and have you ever haul gas, dirt or sand in a suv ?

Id go for a roll and lock so you can still have your bed when you want it and security when you need it.

I had a topper on my truck specifically for my kids and pets when I was in my 20's, don't have a need for one now.

I don't think a camper top has an age stigma attached and even if it did the only thing that matters are your needs, who cares what someone else thinks, it's your truck, do what you want to it.

Do canopies have an age restriction?

this is the most truthful statement one can read when on a car or truck internet forum, for me it is always good to read about opinions but at the end of the day we should never concern ourselves what others may think about our vehicles,

sermon over, carry on
