I'm mad as HELL and everybody is going to know about it!

I don't get the rant either...sounds more like personal issues vented at other people. Money in hand is always the first to get the sale and expect the trash to come out when you deal with anyone on Craigslist.

This may be true... but the guy that was supposed to meet the OP to buy the headlights/taillights is a douche for not showing up or letting the OP know he wasn't going to make it.

Honestly, I don't see the mirror situation as that big of a deal. I mean he told you straight up the reason why and he really didn't have to offer any explanation.
Plus money is a different deal all together. Maybe he really needed the extra cash. I'm not going to fault someone who's hard up for the cash.
You can also look at it another way. If YOU had found a better deal from someone else would you have bought it from them instead?
Now you're initial answer might be, "of course not, I'm a man of my word and integrity!", BUT...what's your price threshold...everybody has got one and it's all relative.
You might not wound your integrity over $20-$50, but what if it was $100 or $500 or $1000. This is all dependent on the cost of the item of course, but if it's a matter of integrity price should theoretically make no difference, but it does.
So if while negotiating this guy down to an agreed upon price, you are simultaneously still looking on Craigslist and come across identical mirrors someone else is selling for $100 less.
Are you a man of your word and literally spend $100 more to keep your word? Or, do you call the first guy up and explain that you found a better deal and back out?
If you backed out and for many people $100 would be worth backing out then the OTHER GUY would be on here ranting!
I understand the frustration, but I can see it from their position as well.

I wouldn't send him an email saying "I found the item cheaper elsewhere so eff ya, thanks" as he basically did to me when he was offered more money for the mirrors.
But I can let bygones be bygones. I just want my mirrors and am looking forward to completing the deal tomorrow.

You do raise a good point. In that situation, I would still feel the need to try and work with the original agreement. I would email the seller, say I found the product for $XXX less, and would he be willing to match it. He would either match or tell me to pound sand.
I wouldn't send him an email saying "I found the item cheaper elsewhere so eff ya, thanks" as he basically did to me when he was offered more money for the mirrors.
But I can let bygones be bygones. I want my damn mirrors and am looking forward to completing the deal tomorrow.

I have always believed that a deal is a deal. But I also realise that buying/selling over the internet is the epitome of "buyer beware." I work with a guy who sells a lot on Kijiji, but the trouble he goes through with no shows and people wanting $10 or $20 items delivered free hundreds of miles away is not worth my time. It's like anyone else on the internet, they don't know who you are, and they don't care.
I sold my 2001 Mustang to him for a very good price, as it was going to be an anniversary present for his wife. I received counter offers from people for money closer to what it was worth. I'll concede that because it was a friend, I did not amend our agreement in any way, but it was kind of douchey of other friends to pressure me to consider cash before this friend.
I hope in the end you get the parts you desire for a price you are comfortable with. My only advice would be to restrict the faith you put in strangers. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst! No one loses sleep these days over their own lack of integrity.
